Lioli…(2) 2
Sundawana…0

Two first-half goals by Tšepo Lekhooana and Tšepo Seturumane yesterday helped Lioli to a 2-0 win over Sundawana FC to open Tse Nala’s 2014/15 Premier League campaign on a winning note.
Lekhooana broke the deadlock seven minutes into the game, with Seturumane extending the lead five minutes later, sending the estimated crowd of 2000 which had come to watch the match at the LCS Ground, into a frenzy.
National team striker Lekhooana scored with an easy tap-in from an inch-perfect cross by Tšepo Seturumane. Seturumane, who produced a man-of-the-match performance yesterday, was at it again as his pace helped him past the Sundawana defence on the counter, and then blasted the ball home to make it safe for Tse Nala.
Lioli were clearly the better side in yesterday’s match, and enjoyed possession for the better part of the game, and only poor finishing by their strikers prevented them from scoring more goals.
After the match, Lioli coach, Mosholu Mokhothu, praised his charges for the good start to the season, adding however, there was still room for improvement.
“We played well and managed to get early goals that were important for us to settle. However, we did not play that well in the second half, as my players lacked tactical discipline,” Mokhothu said.
On his part, Sundawana coach, Moses Maliehe, said his side would improve as the season progresses.
“The boys played well because most of our players are new to the team and we are still trying to gel. Some of our new players could not play today because we have not completed their registration but I believe we will be much better in our next match,” Maliehe said.
In other matches played yesterday, LCS humiliated LMPS 5-2 at the LCS Ground; LDF drew one-all against Nyenye Rovers, while Mphatlalatsane also drew 1-1 with Matlama.
