LINARE communications and marketing manager Lebese Molati says they are waiting on the Econet Premier League champions, Matlama to release their former skipper Mabuti Potloane before they can sign him.

Molati said they have already agreed terms with Potloane and now await to hear if Matlama would be willing to release the player as he still has one year left on his contract.

“We are in a rebuilding phase and we need players whom we believe can help the team, so we have engaged Matlama over Potloane’s availability,” Molati said.

“We are aware that he still has one year left on his contract with Matlama hence we approached the team. We are now waiting to hear from Matlama because we have already agreed terms with the player.”

Should the move materialise Potloane will be returning to his boyhood club which he once captained and helped finish third in the 2013/14 season and was also named the player of the season.

The former Likuena midfielder left Linare in January 2016 to join Matlama and has already won two official trophies, the LNIG Top8 and the Econet Premier League with the Sea-Point outfit.

Molati further confirmed that they are in the brink of signing former Likuena and Lioli utility player Jerry Kamela who has already started training with the team.

The Hlotse born player, who shot to stardom during his days at the now defunct Joy before joining Lioli in 2013, was seen training with Linare last week and has already featured in a few of the side’s friendlies.

According Molati, the technical team headed by Kamela’s former coach at Joy, Freeze Ntene have shown keen interest in the player.

“He has been trialing with the team but I can confirm that the technical team has been singing his praises.

“He actually futured in our friendlies last weekend,” Molati said.

Kamela, who returned to action in January this year after leaving Lioli, where he spent almost a year on the sidelines due to an injury, for A division side Manonyane is currently a free agent after the lapse of his six-month’s contract with the Roma outfit last month.

Molati also announced that Linare have signed Lebajoa Mosehlenyane from Matlama, Makhabane Mpeli and Ntsane Molise from Galaxy and Pheello Sephooana from Ketane.
