IN a significant act of community investment, Let?eng Diamonds has donated four classrooms to Ntlholohetsane Primary School in Mokhotlong district.
The handover ceremony took place on Friday, marking a pivotal moment for the school, which has seen a substantial increase in student enrolment in recent years.
Speaking at the event, Ntlholohetsane Primary School Principal, ‘Mat?abo T?ita, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the generous donation from Let?eng Diamonds.
She highlighted the school’s challenges, particularly the need for additional resources to accommodate the growing number of students.
“Ntlholohetsane is the only primary school in the area with such high enrolment, and we are grateful for the support,” Ms T?ita said.
“However, we still face pressing issues like the need to fence the school yard, access to water, and further assistance to improve the school’s facilities.”
Ms T?ita added that the community’s challenges, such as the risk of broken windows, continued to impact the school, and she hoped for continued support.
Let?eng Diamonds’ Head of Finance ‘Makhomo Motaung, said the donation, valued at over M1 million, was part of the company’s broader strategy to give back to the communities, towns, and villages of Mokhotlong.

According to Ms Motaung, the donation of four classrooms by Let?eng Diamonds is a testament to the company’s commitment to social responsibility and community development.
“It is a source of joy to witness our efforts of uplifting the local community and provide better educational opportunities for the children of Mokhotlong,” she said.
As the school continued to grow, she added, their hope was that further support would follow, ensuring that Ntlholohetsane Primary School “can meet the needs of its students and provide a nurturing learning environment”.
The event was also attended by Minister of Environment and Forestry, Letsema Adont?i, who held fort for Minister of Education and Training, Professor Ntoi Rapapa.
He commended the leadership at Ntlholohetsane Primary School for their dedication and the positive results they had achieved.
