Butha-Buthe

A 38-year-old from ‘Muela in Butha-Buthe appeared before the Butha-Buthe Magistrates’ Court this week on charges of raping his 15-year-old daughter.

The court heard that the father had been sexually assaulting his daughter since 2014 at the time when his wife was away in South Africa where she worked.

He threatened to kill her daughter if she told anyone about the assault.

However, on 7 January, one of the accused’s children caught his father in the act with her sister and reported the matter to some community elders.

The matter was immediately reported to the police leading to his arrest.
