THE Leribe community yesterday held a flea market at Golden Eye Bed and Breakfast (BNB) in Hlotse where handicrafts, collectables and antiques were on offer to the public.

The flea market was organised by the Brand Harbour to provide a platform for the public to interact while buying and selling various items.

One of the organisers, Limpho Matlakala told Express People that the event was open to everyone regardless of age as long as they had something to offer.

She said the organisers would also create a database of handicrafts in the district as well the names of the producers.

“Considering that the Leribe district is the home of handicrafts, we thought of bringing people to one accessible place to display and sell their products,” Ms Matlakala said.

“We anticipated a big turnout since the Leribe people had been looking forward to the initiative and indeed the turn up was excellent.”

She also revealed that nine local retail stores were part of the event which started at 10 am to 6 pm.

Face of Lesotho 2015 winner, Mojabeng Senekal and Miss Lesotho Sunday Express 2017, Mpoi Mahao attended the event.

There were music performances from various local artistes including 2015 Vodacom Superstar female winner, Dj Linah and Dj Thiza.
