MASERU — Premier league champions, Lioli, have added Likuena striker, Tšepo Lekhooana, to their already star-studded team on a free transfer. Lioli communications and marketing manager, Moeketsi Pitso, confirmed to this paper on Friday that the towering striker is now their player and is free to play league matches.

“Indeed, I can confirm to you that we have completed the paperwork and Lekhooana is now our player,” Pitso said. “Last weekend he was part of the squad that won 1-0 against Mphatlalatsane and it is just a matter of time before he plays. Pitso said the player has penned a three-year contract with the league champions.

Lekhooana was last season playing for Maluti FET College in the Free State and helped the team win promotion to the South African first division. “He has made his intentions clear that he wants to play outside the country and we won’t stand in his way once an offer is tabled,” said Pitso. “Lekhooana is a quality player and brings a lot of experience into the team having played outside the country and for the national team,” he said.

He said the striker will bring a lot of value into Tse Nala as they hope to excel in the continental champions league as well as defend their league title. “There will be a lot on our plate this season and we need a striker of his qualities to help us defend the league title and conquer in continental assignments,” Pitso said.

Lekhooana will vie for a first team place with last season’s top goal scorer, Tšepo Seturumane and Nkoto Masoabi who is currently leading the premier league goal scoring chats. Tse Nala also have youngster, Bafokeng Mosala, Lekhanya Lekhanya and injured Junior Maba among forwards that will be fighting for a placing in the starting eleven.
