MASERU — The Lesotho Football Association (Lefa) will on Tuesday officially unveil fixtures for the Vodacom Premier League second round.
Lefa competitions manager Mokhosi Mohapi confirmed this with the Sunday Express on Friday.
“We are issuing the second round fixtures of the Vodacom Premier League on Tuesday,” Mohapi said.
He said the second round of the league was likely to kick-off on the weekend beginning February 25.
“It is likely to start the same weekend or the following one because there are certain things that we must include into the fixtures,” Mohapi said.
One of the things that must be included into the fixtures is the national team’s activities.
“We also need to pencil in the national team programme into the league fixtures to avoid a clash of activities,” Mohapi said.
Earlier this year the premier league management committee said they were worried that they might extend the league to June because of a backlog of games.
The first round of the league ended last Sunday with a match between Matlama and Linare at Setsoto Stadium.
Matlama won the match 2 — 1.
Lesotho Defence Force, Lesotho Correctional Service, Joy and Matlama are currently in the top four on the log after the first round.
LDF are comfortably on top of the league with 25 points, LCS second with 21, Joy have 19 while fourth-placed Matlama are on 18 points.
