MASERU — The much anticipated league match between LCS and Bantu was cancelled immediately after half-time due to incessant rains that pounded Maseru yesterday. Referee, Osias Koto, called off the match with Bantu leading 1-0 at the Correctional Service ground.
The Mafeteng-based club had gone ahead through a Thabiso Mohapi’s 36th minute strike. Koto said the conditions of the pitch were no longer playable after inspecting it during the half-time break.

“The conditions of the pitch were no longer playable and we had to call-off the match,” Koto said. Another match between league leaders Lioli and Joy also failed to take off due to rain. Both teams are on 16 points at the top of the league table alongside Lioli. Both matches will reschedule to a later date. Meanwhile, the Lesotho Football Association on Friday announced that Bantu have been awarded the three points and three goals for their match against Matlama that was abandoned in September.
The match was called off following Tse Putsoa’s failure to produce the player’s playing cards.
