LCS beefs up technical team

MASERU — Defending premier league champions, LCS, have beefed-up their technical team by appointing former league winning coach, Katiso Mojakhomo, as their new technical director.
Mojakhomo rejoins the team after unsuccessful spells with Mabeoana and Lioli respectively.
He replaces veteran Mafa “Ribbo” Ramakau, who is one of the most successful coaches in the country.
“I’m honoured to be back at the team. I had a successful stint as coach here and guided the club to two back-to-back league trophies and a few cup competitions between 2006 and 2010,” Mojakhomo said.
He told the Sunday Express that his biggest task will be working closer with the current technical team to make LCS the best team in the country.
“I have been brought back to help the team win more trophies and do well in continental competitions,” he said.
Mojakhomo was the head coach when LCS won two back-to-back league trophies in the 2006/07 and 2007/08 seasons.
He told this paper that one of his responsibilities will be recruiting younger players to replace ageing members of the squad.
LCS public relations officer, Kofo Ntai, told the Sunday Express that they are happy to have the experienced coach back in the team.
“He understands the culture of this team very well; he was the head coach a few years ago when the team won a number of trophies,” said Ntai.
“There is no doubt that his experience will be very vital as we try to win a third successive league title and do well in the Confederation of African Football (Caf) Champions League,” said Ntai.
LCS preparations for the crucial continental fixture were thrown into disarray earlier this month after the cross-border tournament that was to feature Kaizer Chiefs and Bloemfontein Celtic along with four local teams was called-off.
However, their management have been working around the clock to secure the team international friendly matches before their tough continental first leg match against Dynamos of Zimbabwe.
Masheshena, as the correctional service side is affectionately known, last played a competitive match in a 1-0 win over Likhopo in December last year.
