HIS Majesty King Letsie III handed over personal protective clothing worth M60 000 to Scott Hospital in Morija on behalf of Nedbank Lesotho on Thursday.

Nedbank mobilised the donation in celebration of His Majesty’s 57th birthday which was celebrated on 17 July 2020.

The donation was delayed by the Covid-19 restrictions which deterred free movement of people.

King Letsie thanked Nedbank for the generous donation which he was even made better by his love for the beneficiary institution.

“I thank you for this generous gesture and for choosing Scott Hospital, an institution that is close to my heart,” King Letsie III said.

“To all health professionals, I am happy that you are receiving today. May this gift assist you and improve your work of caring for Basotho men, women and children.”

His Majesty added that it was his hope that the gift would motivate and uplift the hospital’s front liners to selflessly fight Covid-19.

For his part, Nedbank managing director Nkau Matete said they decided to give King Letsie III a special gift hence their donation to Scott Hospital.

“This year we decided to give him a gift we knew he would love. One very close to his heart and that is through donating to Scott Hospital.

“His Majesty has done so much for this hospital. So, we chose to come to Morija to handover his gift from Nedbank as part of his birthday celebration. This gift is going to help the staff in enhancing preventative measure in fighting Covid-19,” Mr Matete said.

Lesotho Evangelical Church (LECSA) moderator Simeone Masemene also expressed gratitude to Nedbank and His Majesty for the gift. He said the gift will help Scott Hospital save lives.
