MASERU — First it was the Miss Lesotho Companies crown.

Then came the prestigious Miss Vodacom PC FM title.

After conquering the local beauty sector for the past two years, Karabelo Mokoallo is now eyeing an international crown.

Karabelo, 22, is one of the 110 beauties who will fight it out for the Miss Globe International crown in Istanbul, Turkey, in two months’ time.

The pageant is set for October 15-30.

Karabelo told Xpress People she was thrilled to get the opportunity to have a go at an international title.

“Initially I wanted to participate in the Miss World pageant which is set for November but when they delayed confirming me I looked for another international pageant,” she said.

“That’s how ended up being one of the 110 girls to compete in Miss Globe International 2010.”

Karabelo said Rajoc Hair & Beauty Salon owner Tlali Tlali had helped her secure a berth in the pageant.

She said she received confirmation of her participation in the pageant last week.

Karabelo’s biggest challenge now is to source sponsorship to make the trip possible.

“The trip is budgeted at M50 000 and that includes money for my attire, travel, food and accommodation,” she said.

“I hope to approach different companies for assistance so that I can put Lesotho on the international modelling map.”
