JIJI F is set tour South Africa and Lesotho with South African rapper Reason on 30 and 31 July, the former’s manager Moeketsi “Individual Max” Manoeli has said.

Having made his first recording in 2008, Jiji F shot to fame after featuring in Basali and J Cob’s track Ke Teng remix which became club anthems. Since then, Jiji F has gone from strength to strength releasing solo offerings and collaborating with other artistes. His blending of rhymes in street vernacular has endeared him to fans who can relate to the lyrics.

Since his rise to stardom, the Khubetsoana-based rapper has become a feature on the local Hip Hop shows calendar and has been increasingly foraying into the South African entertainment scene.

According to Individual Max, who has also been bringing a host South African artists to Lesotho such as Cassper Nyovest, Kid X, Vigilante, Kwesta among others, preparations for the tour are on track.

“The tour has been set for the 30th and 31st of this month with Jiji F performing alongside one of South Africa’s most respected rappers, Reason,” he said from his Johannesburg base.

“The tour will start off at Topaz Lounge in Bloemfontein featuring a couple of local acts as well as those from South Africa. The following day they will proceed to the Khubetsoana-based joint, 4Fordy to serve patrons in Maseru.”

Also speaking to the Sunday Express, Jiji F said he was looking forward to the gig as it would boost his profile. Reason and Jiji F met up while performing during last year’s Vodacom Summa Concert.

“I believe this collaborative tour will give me more mileage and exposure as Reason is one of the few artistes in South Africa who have actually made it, so having joint shows is a blessing,” said Jiji F who is also hopeful of a collaborative track after the tour.

“We approached Reason’s management earlier this year for joint shows since I was already planning a show in South Africa and they wanted to come to Lesotho. We reached an agreement to collaborate.”

On his part, Reason’s manager, Akio “DJ ID” Kawahito confirmed the tour but would not be drawn to give more details.

The two rappers’ managers, who are both deejays, are also billed to perform during the tour which will also feature such local acts as T-Mech, Kopano, Juvy and South Africa’s Naycha, Venushka, Playazbeats, Trybz and a special appearance by Reason’s close companion, Ginger Trill.
