Hero’s send-off for Moletsane

MOHALE’S HOEK — The late Minister of Development Planning Professor Maboee Moletsane was buried at his home in Liphiring Ha Raboroko in Mohale’s Hoek on Friday.
Moletsane, who was the deputy leader of the All Basotho Convention (ABC), died of pancreatic cancer in Bloemfontein on October 26.
He was 74.
A three gun salute was fired in his honour by the Lesotho Defence Force.
Speaking at the burial, Prime Minister Thomas Thabane said the late minister had made significant contributions towards the country’s development and the improvement in the lives of ordinary people.
Thabane described Professor Moletsane as a loyal leader who was always devoted to his duties.
Chief Mathealira Seeiso, who spoke on behalf of King Letsie III, expressed his deepest sorrow over the loss of a “warrior who loved seeing people progressing”.
Speaker of the National Assembly, Sephiri Motanyane, commended the deceased for being a self-confident leader who worked hard to address the needs of his people.
Also present at the burial were the Deputy Prime Minister Mothetjoa Metsing, Cabinet ministers, MPs, principal chiefs as well as ordinary people.
Moletsane was appointed development planning minister in June at the formation of the coalition government and served in government for five months.
