Econet Telecom Lesotho yesterday gave five lucky subscribers groceries worth M20 000 as part of the company’s Econet Ke Summer promotion.
The prize-giving ceremony took place at Sefika Shopping Complex in Maseru.
In addition to the groceries, the company also gave out airtime, solar lamps, cash, smartphones, tablets and home theatre systems to its subscribers.
Econet Telecom Lesotho Brand Manager-Fixed and Data, Itumeleng Mpasi, said the campaign started last month and ends in February 2015.

Ms Mpasi added those who won trolley-dash prizes were not restricted to a certain amount of the goods they could collect from the Shoprite Sefika shelves during the grab-and-dash rush, during the could collect goods of their choice for a prescribed period.
One of the winners of the trolley-dash prizes, Ms Makananelo Ramoholi from Butha-Buthe said yesterday’s competition had come as a surprise because she had only paid her DSTV subscription and bought electricity through the Eco-cash money-transfer facility.
“During the dash-and grab, I picked mostly electricity appliances and soaps as those are the most important things for me. I also took some groceries. I enjoyed this shopping moment and I would like to thank Econet for these prizes,” Ms Ramoholi said.
Another winner, Mr Lehlohonolo Moteletsana from Sempetenyane, said he had purchased electricity and airtime through Eco-cash for his brother’s Spaza Shop.
“We sell electricity and other products that are accessible through Eco-cash. During my dash, it was a bit exciting and confusing. I decided to take meat mostly that I can also sell to my clients at the shop,” Mr Moteletsana said.
