Free airtime for EcoCash subscribers

SUBSCRIBERS of Econet’s mobile money, EcoCash, will enjoy free talk time as bonus upon receiving cash remittance from South Africa through EcoCash.

EcoCash’s Product Manager, ‘Makatleho Raphoolo revealed the extravaganza at the launch this week.

Raphoolo stated that Econet finds it befitting to continue and introduce frills that augment their products and services with the intention of improving the customers’ lives.

“We are always trying to find solutions to our customers’ problems and we know that it is not easy for family members and friends who work in RSA to send money home whenever they can without any hindrance” said Raphoolo

She also reiterated that it is disheartening to always see Basotho queuing in numbers for days at some cash-out points just to receive their money from the neighboring country. “With Flash to EcoCash, money is deposited directly into the customers’ EcoCash account from which it can be withdrawn from any of the Econet shops or EcoCash agents throughout the country” said Raphoolo

“This is convenience at its best as the customers will save on travelling costs and time” added Raphoolo

Raphoolo continued to elaborate that Econet will be giving away free airtime to EcoCash customers. “To put cherry on top, we will give away free airtime to each and every customer whose EcoCash account receives cash from RSA through Flash-to-EcoCash” she said

This means that each customer will not only receive money but free airtime which will be loaded the following day depending on the amount deposited.

She continued by emphasizing that sending money from RSA to Lesotho through Flash-to-EcoCash is secure and easy to use. She said that the sender only needs a passport or identification card and one of RSA networks’  active SIM card to register at any of the 70, 000 Flash agents in RSA including  PEP stores, PEP cells, Shoprite, Usave, Checkers Pick’n Pay or Independent vendors and Kiosks. As for the receiver of money in Lesotho, all that is required is for them to have registered on Econet’s EcoCash through *100#.
