First National Bank (FNB) Lesotho ?has launched an international money transfer app to mark its 20th?anniversary in the country.
The official launch of the Fx international money transfer app was held at the Victory Hall in Maseru last Wednesday. The event brought together FNB executives, government officials, and the bank’s customers.
FNB’s Head of?Commercial, Corporate?and Investment Banking, Mots’eare Ts’osane, said the app was a “cross-border payments” system enabling individuals to send money across the globe with ease.
According to Mr Ts’osane, the app had been designed to make life easier for Basotho, by providing a “convenient and reliable way to send and receive money internationally”.
The Fx app allows users to send and receive money in various currencies, including the South African rand, US dollar, and euro, among others.
The app is designed to be user-friendly, with a simple and intuitive interface that makes it easy for users to initiate transactions from the comfort of their homes.
Mr Ts’osane said the the app was not only convenient but also cost-effective, with competitive exchange rates and low fees.
He added that the app was available 24/7, allowing users to make transactions at any time and from any location.
The launch of the Fx app is part of FNB’s ongoing efforts to leverage technology to improve client experience of the bank’s services.
As a pioneer in the banking industry, FNB has consistently demonstrated its commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction.
Mr Ts’osane said the app was testament to FNB’s dedication to empowering its customers and making financial services more accessible.
“We don’t want to see you queuing up at our offices for services you can do by yourselves,” he said.
He said the bank’s goal was to provide a platform that enabled individuals to manage their finances effectively, whether locally or internationally.
Guests in attendance were impressed by ?a demonstration of the app, which showcased its user-friendly interface and seamless transaction process.

In his remarks, Tichere Pule, an entrepreneur and bank customer, commended FNB executives for their hard work and dedication in developing the app.
