A 38-year-old man from Kolo, Ha Lenonyane is in police custody for allegedly raping his 11-year-old daughter.

Officer Commanding Mafeteng Police, Senior Superintendent Moqhabi Likhama, told LeNA that the suspect allegedly started sleeping with his daughter last year when she was 10 years old.

He also said the suspect’s wife is employed in South Africa as a domestic worker and the victim stays with his father.

Senior Superintendent Likhama further said when the matter was reported to family members, they decided to keep it among themselves until the victim’s teachers reported the matter to the Area Chief who alerted T’skaholo police.

The suspect is expected to appear before the Mafeteng Magistrate’s Court when investigations are complete, Senior Superintendent Likhama said.-LeNA
