TRAVEL agency, Beyond The Kingdom Travel and Tours, has lined up a number of excursions over the course of the year as part of efforts to promote domestic tourism.

According to the travel agency’s representative, Sehoai Mohoshela, the jaunts will start off on Saturday with a trip to Mohale Dam.

She said the excursion would entail a visit to such attractions as Molimo Nthuse Lodge and Orion Mohale Lodge which is adjacent to Mohale Dam; the second largest water barrier in the country after Katse Dam.

Mohoshela said an array of activities were in store for participants at Mohale Dam such as boat riding and pony trekking.

She said they organised the trips after realising not many Basotho explore their country and relax through domestic tourism.

“It is very disconcerting to realise that foreign tourists know Lesotho far better than most Basotho,” Mohoshela said.

“It is important for Basotho to know their country so we can tell people from other nations about the beauty of our motherland. Travelling is also an effective form of relaxation through interaction with nature.”

She said they had lined up more monthly trips to various destinations until December.

In October, the agency will head to to Maliba Lodge (Tšehlanyane National Park in Leribe), Malealea Lodge (Mafeteng) in November while in December Sani Pass in Mokhotlong will be their destination
