THE Ministry of Public Works and Transport has released drivers’ licences and advised applicants to approach the Department of Traffic and Transport for collection.

In a recent statement, the ministry said, “All members of the public that applied for driver’s licences can now collect them at the Department of Traffic and Transport”.

“This applies only to licence applications submitted from 2014 till December 2016.

“Applications that were submitted from January 2017 will only be able to collect their licenses during the second round of issuing.”

“The public is requested to bring their receipts, temporary driver’s licence and certified copies of identification documents.”

The development has come as a relief to the motoring public who had experienced a two year delay in the processing of their applications for licences amid reports that the delay was caused by funding challenges which had constrained the department’s operations.
