DJ Zipompe quits People’s Choice again

MASERU — The popular People’s Choice (PC) FM’s Rethabile “Zipompe” Chabana has left the airwaves again.

The 28-year-old radio personality waved goodbye to her popular breakfast show to join Lezah, a media productions company, last month.

Zipompe told the Sunday Express that she had left PC FM because “her hands were full”.

“I could not do the breakfast show and media production at the same time, especially now when we are part of the coming Econet Telecom Lesotho Morija Arts & Cultural Festival,” Zipompe said.

This is not the first time that she has left the radio station to pursue media consultancy.

Zipompe left the radio in 2005 to start an advertising and events management company.

“Unfortunately the company closed when one of my partners died,” she said.

She came back on air with full force to present the 7am to 9am breakfast show which earned her big listenership, especially among the youth.

“Many youths loved the show because of its pumping music and brain teasers,” Zipompe said.

“They loved to phone in and try on the tricky questions. It was real fun.”

She added: “I enjoyed my show. I really miss it.”

This time round Zipompe said she was leaving PC FM for good.
