SOUTH African disc spinner and OFM presenter, DJ Shaxe, has promised revelers a night of bliss during his show at Maseru Mall-based Ba.One restaurant on 30 July 2016.
DJ Shaxe has performed in Lesotho before over the years at the Maseru Beach Party and Ozone Club in Hlotse among other gigs. He told XpressPeople from his Bloemfontein base this past week the days were not moving fast enough for his return to the Mountain Kingdom.
“I had the opportunity to perform in Lesotho a number of times and always reveled in the awesome reception from the audiences,” said DJ Shaxe.
“I am in love with the country and its people because they know how to have fun. So I can’t wait to return and I intend to continue doing so.”
The old school Hip Hop and Kwaito deejay is set to share the stage with local artists Harris T, Stone Candi, Tapi Delux and Black Bee.
He said another bonus the show would afford him was the opportunity to interact with local artists.
“During my previous visits to Lesotho, I met the likes of Sir Schaba and Harris T. I was particularly impressed by the delivery of rapper L Tore after listening to some of his tracks. All in all, I have to say that I love the standard of the music in Lesotho which is quite high,” DJ Shaxe said, adding that a debut album was in the offing.
“As an up-and coming deejay, I have been working on building my brand before thinking of an album. But I think I am now ready.
“I have already laced a few singles which will be released soon, but I feel it will not be complete if I do not feature rappers from Lesotho and South Africa since it will be a Hip Hop album.”
He said African artists should collaborate to ensure sharing of ideas and skills.
“It is important for African artists to get the exposure needed to be at par with those from overseas. So, by working together as artists from the continent, we will be able to build a bigger and internationally- recognised industry.
“I am also aware that there is an African passport soon to be released and I am very excited because it will allow free movement, making our working relations much easier,” DJ Shaxe added.
