VETERAN disc-spinner DJ Pozzino will today mark his birthday with a bash featuring a host of artists at the Khubetsoana-based club 4Fordy.
DJ Pozzino, who is based in the southern Gauteng city of Vanderbijlpark, told Xpress People he wanted to celebrate the milestone in Lesotho, where he launched his career which now spans almost two decades.
“I decided to celebrate my birthday in Maseru because that is where it all started and is the place where my roots lie,” he said.
The bash will feature house heavyweights such as SA’s DJ Claude of Soul Candi alongside local artists such as Snat Mazzino, Zille, Dixie, Kayza, Sir Paul, Tony, Motsumi, Harris T, Kopper, Mekonko and Thoxie.
DJ Pozzino is regarded as one of the pioneers of his craft in Lesotho, and amassed a large following over the years. Since relocating to South Africa in 2011, his busy schedule limits the frequency of visits to the Mountain Kingdom.
“I visit Lesotho each time I get the opportunity for both small and big projects. The last epic project I was involved in was the Vodacom Summa Feva in December last year,” said DJ Pozzino.
“I have known DJ Claude since 2004. He is a very close friend who has influenced the type of music I play, hence my bringing him to Maseru so that fans can also get to enjoy.”
Claude is renowned popular for a number of albums that include Stereo Candi and Essential Tunes. His 2003 hit, Love is a Liar, remains a club anthem to this day.
