KAMOHELO “DJ Edwin” Lebesa is set to feature a local artist on his next online podcast which will be hosted by former Miss Lesotho Relebohile Kobeli on 1 July 2016.

According to the South Africa-based disc spinner, he launched the podcast, titled Fireworks Music Radio Podcast, in 2012 for personal use but later on decided to use it as a platform to promote other artists.

“I created Fireworks Music Radio Podcast in 2012 with the sole intention of delivering and sharing good music. It is sponsored by the Mofaya Energy Drink,” DJ Edwin told Xpress People this past week.

“I would personally buy, record mixtapes and then update them for people to stream online. I would not forget to give the due credit to the composers. I then decided to involve local artists to give them the platform to showcase their talent.”

DJ Edwin also promotes local artists by hosting shows at his Thetsane-based hangout spot, K Ash Car Wash. He said local artists needed all the support they could get because promoters were only focused on bringing in foreign artists.

The podcast, which can be accessed on www.fireworks.podomatic.com, so far has 11 episodes and would feature mixes from Hunky D.

“The podcast has already featured disc spinners from SA such as Sculptured Music, Sech from Drumkid Music, and Blakmagik from Hoodba camp. This time around, it will be me and Hunky D in a five hour set co-hosted by former Miss Lesotho Relebohile Kobeli,” he said.

“It will not be restricted to deejays but an array of musicians from different genres as the aim is to promote local talent in general.”

The podcast, DJ Edwin said, would be shared on various social media platforms to ensure maximum exposure.

“I intend to upload the podcast on other media platforms such as iTunes, Google+, YouTube, Amazon, Pinterest and share the links on various social media profiles,” he said.
