HIP Hop outfit, D2a Majoe, are back with a brand new single, O Leshano, which has already been downloaded at least 2000 times since it was released last week.

The track features new members, Severe Agoni, Golden Shovel, Majuka along with the group’s founder, Kommanda Obbs.

It is the first single from their third project, T?epe Tape Vol. 3, whose release date has not yet announced.

The single marks the return of the group who became renowned in 2013 as one of the most versatile groups in Lesotho.

They varied their musical offerings by rapping in different languages including French.

In May 2014 they released the 15-track Nalane album after its promotional single, L’Afrique Sans Frontieres (Africa without borders), garnered 10 000 downloads on Datafilehost in a very short space of time.

During that time, the group featured prominently on the local and South African Free State entertainment scene performing at major festivals such as the Kome Caves Beer & Clamping Festival as well as the Vodacom Summa Feva and Macufe in Bloemfontein.

It was not clear how many members the group had but prominent figures included T.I.E.H.O, Boshoa Botsoere, T?epe Motopela, Yemba Shungu, Qhobela and Kool S’moko.

Boshoa and Qhobela were the first to leave the group towards the end of 2014 and T.I.E.H.O, Yemba and S’moko also left in 2015.

This left Motopela who continued with his solo projects under the D2a Majoe umbrella while also shadowing Kommanda Obbs at various performances.

Sneiman, another long-serving but lesser known member of the group, also pursued a solo career.

When Kommanda Obbs got signed by South African record label, Native Rhythms in 2015, there was talk that he only looked out for himself, which explained why he was shining alone.

He has however, recruited new members for D2a Majoe’s return, including those that are featured on the O Leshano track.

The question is whether the group is back to stay. Or will fans continue to see the coming and going of members? Only time will tell.
