EIGHTEEN lucky customers yesterday won big at the Vodacom M1 million Win-A-Lot Campaign competition at Maseru Mall.

Launched in June this year, the competition aims to reward the mobile telecommunications giant’s customers with an assortment of prizes including cash, smart televisions and groceries. The competition will run until 30 September 2021.

Since the beginning of the competition, customers can dial *111# and opt-in if they are interested in participating. They become eligible to participate after buying any kind of Vodacom bundles. Every Monday, there is a weekly draw to choose winners from among those who would have bought bundles the week before.

These lucky customers win grocery vouchers, smart phones and cash prizes on a weekly basis.

There is also a monthly draw with even bigger prizes. In yesterday’s monthly draw, eight lucky customers each walked away with a trolley full of assorted goodies from Shoprite Maseru Mall.

Another five customers won smart television sets while another five won M10 000 each.

In an interview with the Sunday Express, Vodacom Lesotho Principal Specialist for Marketing and Digital Media, Sekonyela Matamane, said yesterday’s event was the first monthly give away since the launch of the competition in June.

“Every week since the launch of the competition, we have been announcing winners on our social media platforms who win instant prizes,” Mr Matamane said.

“Some of our customers win grocery vouchers, smart phones and cash prizes and these prizes are won on a weekly basis.

“But what we had today was our first monthly draw where five people won smart TVs, another five won cash prizes of M10 000 each. There were also eight winners in the trolley dash competition.

“We gave each of the eight, seven minutes to fill up their trolleys in the dash and they left with a lot of groceries,” Mr Matamane said.

He said there will be more winners in the next monthly draw at the end of this month.

One of cash winners, ‘Mabatho Sekoai, from Hlotse, expressed her joy and gratitude for the competition. She said she had no idea she would be one of the winners when she first opted to participate in the competition.

She said she would donate some of her winnings to charity and use the remainder for her own needs.

“I am very happy to be one of the winners. I am grateful to Vodacom for this competition because there is a lot I am going to do with this money. I usually help vulnerable people and I am happy to have won this money because it will enable me to continue helping them. I will use part of it for my own needs,” Ms Sekoai said.

Other cash prize winners are Joseph Joseph, Libuseng Lekhotla, Thuso Dlamini and Thabo Molibetsane. The smart TV winners are Lit?oanelo Thamae, Thato Lala, Tlotliso Nteso, Sebolelo Ntebele and Neo Mochekoane.

Those who won in the trolley dash competition are Rethabile Jomane, ‘Mampho Tlhabeli, Makhapi Tlali, ‘Malilemo Letele, Palesa Nkhetse, ‘Maleronti Khoali, Kholi Mpiti and Motsieleli Malefane.
