A 56-year-old woman and her husband are in police custody after being found in possession of two unregistered rifles.
“The couple is from Sehlabeng-sa-Matsieng but are staying in Qoaling. It is believed they are parents to one of the suspects in famo-related killings which took five lives in Ha Seoli in January this year,” Senior Inspector Molefe said yesterday.
Sehlabeng-sa-Matsieng is one of Lesotho villages ravaged by famo-related gang wars between Seakhi and Terene groups.
Meanwhile, a 37-year-old Thaba-Tseka woman handed over an illegal fireman belonging to her late husband to the police last week.
Senior Inspector Molefe said the woman was granted amnesty as she voluntarily surrendered the firearm.
