Buddie Premier League set to begin September

MASERU — The 2009/10 Buddie Premier League will start on the second weekend of September.

The league was due to have kicked off yesterday but the start of the season was postponed because not all the top-flight league’s 16 clubs had registered their status.

Two clubs, Butha-Buthe Roses and Swallows, had not fulfilled their obligations.

The Premier League executive committee is due to meet with the clubs next Sunday by which time all teams are set to have registered.

Premier League chairman Tlholo Letete last week said he was hopeful the league would kick-off in three weeks time.

“I don’t want to commit myself to any particular dates but I hope we will start by the second week of September,” Letete said.

Meanwhile Likuena have engaged several countries including Mauritius with a plan to have friendly games and the MGC Supa 8 awards show will be held on September 4 after they were postponed last week
