Boy fatally stabbed over hat

MASERU — A 17-year-old boy from Quthing was fatally stabbed during a dispute over a hat last Friday.
Police spokesperson Masupha Masupha said the teenager was fatally stabbed by a 19-year-old man during a knife fight.
“The suspect wanted a hat that belonged to his girlfriend from the deceased.
“It is alleged that the deceased refused with it and started stabbing the suspect who also fought back with a knife,” Masupha said.
The deceased was stabbed four times by the suspect who is now in hospital with wounds sustained from the stabbing.
Masupha said police are investigating the incident.
In a separate incident, three men from Ha Lesala appeared in the Maseru Magistrate Court on Thursday last week charged for allegedly stealing copper cables.
Lekhooa Molise, Mahlomola Molato and Setala Seenyane are alleged to have stolen cables belonging to Econet Telecom Lesotho (ETL) two weeks ago.
The ETL made a report to the police after discovering that a three-kilometre long copper cable was missing.
Meanwhile, a suspected cattle rustler was killed in Ha ‘Mako last Wednesday.
The 33-year-old man was beaten to death after he was caught in someone’s kraal.
Police said a 50-year-old man reported to police that he found the suspect trying to steal his cattle and attacked him.
Police said the deceased had injuries on his head, face and bruises all over his body.
In another case three men from Ha Mokhalinyana were arrested for allegedly stealing groceries from a Chinese-owned supermarket.
According to the police report groceries worth M600 were found at the suspects’ homes.
The suspect will appear in court this week.
