MASERU — The Maluti Mountain Brewery and South African Craft Brewers will showcase their products at the first ever beer tasting festival at the Kome Caves next month.
The show which is expected to be wrought with lots of entertainment by local and foreign artistes will also be a platform for the launch of Ska Moteane’s latest anthology of recipes for meals served best with beer.
The book is the second to be launched by this internationally renowned chef after her international award winner Cuisines of the Mountain Kingdom.
Local hip-hop stable D2a-Majoe crew alongside South African 340ml and Kolu Band are expected to perform at the event.
The event will be hosted by Tangerine Inc. a local events’ company which has been appointed by Lesotho Tourist Development Corporation to administer all tourism activities pertaining to the Caves.
The Kome Caves which are an integral part of Basotho’s history from as far back as the 1800s have been one of the best tourists’ attractions of the country.
Tingerine’s Chief Executive Officer ‘Matebello Phomane told XpressPeople that they had taken it upon themselves to promote the Kome Caves.
“It has become our duty to market the caves since last year. We found it fit to have this kind of festival so as to attract more people to the place,” she told this paper.
“Ten percent of the revenue will be donated towards the development of the caves and the nine villages surrounding them,” Phomane said.
The event will also include horse riding, quad bike racing, and paint-ball guns.
