MASERU — Basotho Enterprises Development Corporation (Bedco) has organised a three-day exhibition trip to be held in Johannesburg for starters in business.
The exhibition, which begins today until Tuesday, is being hosted by the Southern African Trade Exhibition (SAITEX) in Midrand.
It will cater for small, micro and medium enterprises.
Business consultant for Bedco, Lebohang Mafela, told the Sunday Express on Thursday that the corporation’s mandate is to grow business in Lesotho by facilitating interaction between local and international entrepreneurs.
“Our mandate is to see business growing in Lesotho and this is why we are facilitating local and international shows to educate people about doing their own businesses,” Mafela said.
“We have invited Basotho who are planning to open their businesses to an exhibition to be held in Midrand South Africa next week.”
He added: “This is going to be a worldwide exhibition where different manufactures will be there to showcase their products and other people even get business ideas from the exhibition.”
He said the Ministry of Trade has organised some Basotho businessmen and women whose products are also going to be displayed.
“There are Basotho who are going to participate at the show to display their products.
The reason we encourage people to display their products at the shows is that they easily advertise as people get to know who produce what and they can be easily contacted,” he said.
