Bantu rewards players

THE reigning Econet Premier League champions, Bantu FC will on Saturday reward their outstanding players for the 2017/18 season at an event scheduled for Golden Hotel in the Mafeteng district.

Bantu general manager Poosela Pule told this the Sunday Express on Friday that preparations were on track for the annual event as they have secured partnerships with local companies.

“Preparation are on course for the event and we are positive that this year it will be a bigger event than that we had last year,” Pule said.

“Several companies have come on board to partner us for the event while others are yet to give us feedback in the coming week (this week).”

Prizes up for grabs include young player of the year, players’ player, golden glove, goal of the year, longest serving, goal of the year, most improved and good sportsmanship. Other prizes are for the most consistent, most disciplined, fans’ favourite, best signing, players, golden boot presidential and player of the season awards.

He said monetary prizes start from M500 up to M5000 for the various awards.

Pule said the awards are meant to show the team’s appreciation for the efforts shown by the players throughout the season.

“This is our appreciation for the good work that they have done in the just ended season. We want to motivate them to do even better in the coming season. Those that will not get awards this season should also aspire to do better and win awards next season,” he said.

He further added that they also intend to reward the supporters with the most active branch will being rewarded.

“This team is also where it is today because of the fans who are ultimately the 12th player who has to be rewarded. There are two categories for the fans (most active branch and supporter of the year. With the awards we are showing our gratitude for their steadfast support,” said Pule.
