All set for 3rd edition of the Econet Expo

TELECOMMUNICATIONS powerhouse and leading digital services provider, Econet Telecom Lesotho (ETL), will host the Econet Expo 2025, the nation’s premier digital innovation showcase, from 26 to 30 August 2025 at Maseru Mall.

Now in its third year, the Expo has cemented itself as a key platform where technology, innovation, and impact converge.

Dubbed Digital First: Shaping Lesotho’s Tomorrow, the event underscores ETL’s evolution from a traditional telecom operator to the country’s foremost digital services provider.

Speaking ahead of the event, Econet’s Acting GM – Marketing Communications and Customer Experience, Puleng ’Mathabo Masoabi, said the company believes no one should be left behind in the digital revolution.

“The Econet Expo is more than just an exhibition; it is a celebration of how technology can improve lives, businesses, and communities. We are creating a space where customers can experience, learn, and connect with innovations that are shaping the future of Lesotho,” Ms Masoabi said.

She explained that the Expo will feature several attractions, among them the Fintech Innovation Hub showcasing the latest in financial technology solutions, the Smart Home Showcase which demonstrates seamless connected living, and hands-on experiences with cutting-edge Robotics and Artificial Intelligence.

There will also be a dedicated SME and B2B Solutions Corner designed to provide insights for entrepreneurs and enterprises, as well as a Gaming and Digital Entertainment Zone that promises an interactive space for young innovators and enthusiasts.

According to Ms Masoabi, this year’s edition will also spotlight groundbreaking new products and enhancements, including Unlimited WiFi Plus for high-speed internet at homes and businesses, OmniVoice as a unified voice communication solution, EcoTicket for effortless digital ticketing, and EcoCash upgrades that offer faster and more secure mobile money transactions.

“The Econet Expo 2025 is about building the future of Lesotho’s digital economy. Whether you are a young coder, an aspiring entrepreneur, or a business leader, this Expo is designed as your playground of possibilities,” she added.

In addition to exhibitions, the Expo will feature expert-led discussions, cybersecurity sessions, live demonstrations, and customer engagement activities — transforming it into a digital festival for all Basotho and businesses.
