MASERU — A 22-year-old man has been arrested for stabbing and injuring two students from the National University of Lesotho in a suspected love triangle on Wednesday. The suspect is said to have stabbed his 21-year-old girlfriend whom he thought was cheating on him with the other victim aged 23.
According to a police report the suspect attacked the two after finding them in the woman’s house on Wednesday night. “It was reported that the suspect went to the woman’s house and broke in. “He unscrewed the locks of the door before entering the house,” police spokesperson Thato Ramarikhoane said.
“He managed to go into the house where he found the two victims whom he stabbed with a knife,” he said. “The male victim was treated as an outpatient while the woman was admitted in hospital in Roma,” he added. The event occurred at the woman’s rented house in Ha Sekautu.
The suspect is in police custody and he will appear in court soon. Meanwhile in other news an elderly woman of Ha-Khori, Matelile in Mafeteng was raped and stabbed to death with a spear. Mafeteng District Commissioner Tebello Tšephe said the police are still continuing with the investigations before any arrests could be made.
