. . .as stunner contests for Face of Beauty 2014 title

LOCAL contestant, Mohau Mokotjomela, is in the running for the prestigious Face of Beauty 2014 title, whose finale will be held tonight in Taichung, Taiwan.
The 23-year-old Mapoteng-born stunner, who is the current holder of the Face of Beauty Lesotho title, joined models from 50 countries represented in the competition in the central Taiwanese city on 28 October.
Incepted in 2012, the Miss Teen Face of Beauty International has morphed to become the Face of Beauty International. In its third year running, the pageant aims to empower the contestants to gain greater confidence in themselves through sharing knowledge, experiences and developing skills.
Speaking to Xpress People this past week from Taiwan, Mokotjomela said she has had the time of her life at the pageant, although she is nervous about the finale since the competition is tight.
“I got a very warm reception when I arrived here and the hospitality has been great throughout,” said Mokotjomela, who works as a pharmacist at Tšepong Hospital..
“It was quite hectic in the beginning as I happened to be the only one from Africa, but I managed to fit in as time went on.
“I have gained a lot of experience in all the categories that we competed in.”
Mokotjomela’s nerves have been compounded by the nature of the competition in which there are no eliminations prior to the finale with all the contestants in the running for the prize.
The prizes up for grabs for the top five contestants will be the Miss Bikini, Miss Friendship, Miss Tourism Ambassador, Miss Talent and the most sought after Face of Beauty 2014.
“I have been doing well throughout the competition and I believe I will bring one of the crowns home, but even if I fail to do so, I would have gained quite a lot of international experience which will help me a lot,” said
