KHUBETSOANA’S 1Planet Gym will welcome spring in style on Saturday at its DLM Complex premises with a boot camp aimed encouraging healthy lifestyles among the public.
Dubbed Beauty and the Beast, the event has been designed for both men and women.
Paul Mona Lesaoana, the 1Planet Gym instructor, said the event will involve both indoor and outdoor challenges facilitated by local instructors as well as two South African guests.
He said the activities will include outdoor aerobics, Tae Bo, weight lifting, tyre drills, functional training and team building exercises.
4Fordy Restaurant which is also located at DLM Complex will provide music while there will also be a braai after party.
“Most people become dormant and stay away from the gym in the winter therefore we are welcoming spring in style by reactivating health and fitness programmes,” Lesaoana said.
“We have titled the event Beauty and the Beast since it is designed to cater for both males and females. We will also have exercises where a man and a woman are expected to team up. Apart from that, the title is derived from the fact that some people exercise to show the beasts inside them while others will be just to tone down their bodies.
“The activities will be led by the best instructors from various gyms in the country as well as two guests from South Africa with whom we have exchange programmes.”
Lesaoana said they have grown since the first session in February 2017 and another one in May this year.
“We do not have a specific time frame of hosting the boot camps but we base on the demand such as this one aimed at burning out winter fat. We always try to keep them interesting by introducing new challenges each time hence we engage many instructors for variety.
“Since October is the cancer month, we have also engaged the ministry of Health to speak about cancer ahead of the commemorative month,” Lesaoana.
